Remote Programming for Your Community

At COMPAS, we’re dedicated to helping people across Minnesota stay connected through creativity. We’re excited to offer a variety of options for bringing creative experiences to the populations you serve, and COMPAS programs can be customized to the meet the needs of libraries, senior living sites, healthcare facilities, and other social service organizations. Connect, collaborate, and create with our different remote program options.

Live or Pre-Recorded Performances

When you participate in a COMPAS virtual performance, you connect with world cultures, learn a new art form, and relish in a one-of-a-kind experience. We’ve always said that performances can take place anywhere, and now they can be enjoyed remotely, broadcast on your community’s closed-circuit television channel, or brought directly into the homes of the people you serve. With over 50 first-rate performance artists, COMPAS has something for every audience. From Australian didgeridoo to the South Indian veena, Haitian or Aztec dance, circus arts to spoken word, COMPAS Teaching Artists offer a wide range of unique and riveting performances. Time length and content can be customized to fit your needs. Performances can be live-streamed (over platforms such as Facebook Live or Youtube Live) or delivered as pre-recorded videos (via platforms such as Vimeo or Youtube).

Virtual Residencies and Workshops

COMPAS Teaching Artists have adapted a wide variety of lessons for at-home learning. Create your very own piece of seed art, move those hips with Haitian dance, block print using everyday items, test your acting skills with theater games, make jewelry from recyclables, or express your feelings through poetry. Lessons can be delivered as one-time workshops or multi-week residencies, and can be a combination of live, scheduled digital meetings and asynchronous, pre-recorded videos for your community members to watch through at their own pace. The sky is the limit for creative programming!

Individual Art Kits

Seed art, collage, watercolor, drawing, poetry, sewing and more! Each artist-designed kit comes with a step-by-step instruction sheet, art supplies and prompts for further art exploration.  Art kits can be designed as stand-alone activities or can be paired with other virtual programs for your community.

Examples of Art Kits include:

The people at COMPAS, from the artist coordinator to the working artist, have been super responsive with creating accessible programming for young children during this time of staying at home. We at Saint Paul Public Libraries appreciate having an artistic partner like COMPAS to help expand sharing of stories, dance and art to young children.
— Margo Bock, Children's Specialist, Rice Street Library (Saint Paul Public Libraries)
Youth in our programs are anxious. A lot of them were experiencing isolation before the stay-at-home order took effect… Art is, in and of itself, therapeutic and a great source of self-expression, and COMPAS’ timing was perfect.
— Rachel Blair, Marketing and Communications Manager at Avenues for Youth
