Yvette is currently working with the Minnesota Department of Health, Health Equity serving on a Community Board to create a health equity narrative and helped to launch a Summit designed to support America's black mothers and their babies. She is also doing similar work as a member of the Simpson Housing Early Childhood Community Advisory Board and with the Wilder Center Integrated Care High Risk Pregnancy Initiative {ICHRP). She continues to stay active in her church community recently being ordained as a Chaplain.

As a dancer, designer, she has recently added a new form of artwork to her repertoire, a poet.

As an active member of the Convening Institute she is trained in the Art of Convening a tool she currently uses in her Board related activities and when she served as Dean.

Yvette was formerly Dean of Nursing, Health Sciences and Public Services where she managed 17 programs. I this role she served as the co-chair in the development of the Schools at the college. Some of her accomplishments included accreditation of the Nursing Program. Her programs included Law Enforcement, Sleep Technology, Addiction Counseling, Dental among others.

For over 20 years, Yvette was a faculty member at Minneapolis Community and Technical College {MCTC} in the health and biology departments teaching courses in nutrition, health related topics, change management and stress management. She previously served as Special Assistant to the President for Diversity and Anti-racism Initiatives reporting to MCTC President Phil Davis.

In her role she served on MCTC's Leadership Council and also worked closely with the Student Senate, Student Success Steering Committee and other areas of the college to support and promote the efforts of Diversity and Multicultural goals on the campus. Some of her many accomplishments include co­ chair responsible for launching the Student African American Brotherhood (SAAB) at MCTC the first chapter in Minneapolis, initiating the creation of the first on-boarding program for the college to support the consistency for equity for our campus, supporting students in creating the first Director of Diversity on the Student Senate, conducting a variety of trainings for staff and students, chair of the MLK Committee and chair of the first Spirit and Soul celebration of Black History Month in partnership with the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis.

She also represented MCTC on MNSCU committees, MNSCU Diversity Committee responsible for charting the course of Diversity for all of the MNSCU colleges and MNSCU Succession Planning Committee.

A brief summary of Trotman's experiences includes teaching at Century, North Hennepin, Inver Grove Community Colleges and Metro State University for the last 20 years. She currently teaches courses in nutrition, health related topics, change management and stress management at MCTC. Paralleling her role as educator she was a corporate trainer and organizational development consultant for 20 years where she led the development and organization of sexual harassment and diversity training for the entire Ceridian Corporation international organization. She also delivered training in managing change, MBTI {Myers Briggs), Social Styles, Leadership Development, and work life integration for Ceridian Corporation and its customers. Prior to her education and corporate experience she worked as Chief Clinical Director and Director of Dietetics at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Trotman who hails from the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean was educated in Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. and has a master's degree in human ecology from Howard University, post-graduate studies in nutrition, a dietetic internship and post graduate studies from the University of Michigan and holds many professional certifications. She is a member of the Association of Psychological Type {APT), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the American Dietetic Association {ADA), Creatrix, Jacl{ & Jill of America and Heartland Inc.

Trotman has a wealth of leadership experience having served on a number of boards. Currently she serves on the boards of Campas as Vice-President, Honoring Women Worldwide and is past President and Vice-President of her church board. Other past significant leadership roles include Co-chair of St. Paul Central High School and Ceridian Corporation Partnership, board member of Alexandria Technical Institute, member of Land-0-Lakes Consumer Advisory Board and founding member of the Caribbean Association in the Twin Cities.

Her passion is bringing a rich blend of energy and experience in meeting the unique needs of diverse students, peers and community organizations," says Trotman, who also enjoys teaching Caribbean dancing. "I consider myself a "hybrid" with a mix of both corporate, education and hospital experiences," added Trotman who has been recognized for her gifts in critical thinking, strategy, being insightful, creativity and exercising good judgment. "My love of education which I acquired from my parents both life-long educators, inspires me to help others discover their dreams and passion."
