Marlaine joined COMPAS in 2018. She is responsible for program development and implementation as well as the strategic direction of the COMPAS Artful Aging™, Access Arts and Arts in Healthcare programs. She is also the Accessibility Coordinator at COMPAS. Marlaine works to enhance and maintain a broad and responsive teaching artist roster, manages the program infrastructure and fosters site partner collaborations. Prior to COMPAS Marlaine operated an artist studio and supported nonprofits as an administrator and operations manager. As a teaching artist Marlaine has created and implemented many dynamic hands-on arts residencies with older adults and students. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with an English degree and operated an artist studio (welding and other media) for more than 20 years. In her spare time Marlaine enjoys hiking, reading and cooking.
