The Holmes Avenue Strings is beautiful instrumental music featuring violin, guitar/mandolin, and piano. Some popular classics, some bossa nova, some Americana, and possibly some Broadway tunes. Terry Elliott (violin), Joan Griffith (guitar/mandolin), and Anita Ruth (piano) play and talk about the instruments they love and the music they love to play. Several different programs are available, or mix and match and create your own. Concerts will be as interactive as the audience would like.
Joan, an accomplished multi-instrument wizard, plays guitar, mandolin or bass as the selections call for it. Terry is a virtuoso violinist playing everything from Baroque masters to Americana folk music to the latest show tunes. Anita brings her skills as a pianist and arranger to round out the group. The pandemic taught us that we need to play music live, in a collaborative setting with other people, and that an audience is part of that coming together.
