Virajita Singh

Executive Committee At-Large

Virajita has been on the Board of Directors since 2016. She is the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer (CDIO) at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia). Before this, Virajita served as the Associate Vice Provost, in the Office of Equity and Diversity, at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, she was a Senior Research Fellow in the Center for Sustainable Building Research at the UMN.

She grew up in Mumbai, India where she earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture. She continued her studies at the U of M where she received her master’s. Her passions include social justice, culture, sacred spaces, and the arts. In Virajita’ s spare time, she is involved in her spiritual community serving at a local homeless shelter, and had been volunteering at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (Mia) as a Collection-in-Focus Guide, specifically with the Art of China and the Japan and Korea Collections.
