James (Jamie) is the Assistant Dean/Chief Marketing Officer at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. With more than 20 years of experience spanning higher education, financial services, retail, and the entertainment and advertising industries, Jamie’s areas of expertise include marketing strategy, digital marketing, brand management, and strategic communications. Outside of work, he actively participates in industry and community organizations, such as COMPAS, SXSW, and MIMA, reflecting his commitment to both professional and local engagement. Lastly, as an adult learner and beginner piano player, Jamie believes that arts play an important role in our lives – no matter the age.
