Jacob Snyder Timmons is a theatre-maker and educator from Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his BFA in Theatre Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before heading off to Blue Lake, California to earn his MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from Dell’Arte International.

Jacob has previously worked with Raleigh Little Theatre as a teaching artist, actor, and conservatory instructor of movement; North Carolina Theatre for Young People as an actor and puppet designer; was a founding member of the Springdale Players in Greensboro, NC; and coordinated arts programming at East Side Arts Council in St. Paul, MN. Jacob has provided guidance and trainings with schools across the US in urban, suburban, and rural communities as well as organizations like the Trevor Project, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and UP Partnership.

Jacob is passionate about arts education and arts accessibility. He has served as a grant review panelist for the Minnesota State Arts Board and Metro Regional Arts Council and as an artistic evaluator for the Minnesota State Arts Board. Jacob serves on the Board of Directors at COMPAS because he believes every Minnesotan deserves the chance to discover their voice through the arts and that creative expression is a powerful tool for building stronger communities.

As the Executive Director of Cahoot?! Physical Theatre, Jacob focuses on building operational systems that support artists and artmaking. By creating structures that are collaborative and empower the individuals involved, Jacob brings his ensemble-based training into arts administration to bridge the worlds of creativity and operations.
