Summer Art Camps are Here!

The school year is wrapping up - are you ready for summertime? Even though the classroom doors may close, creativity is essential all year ‘round!

This year, we’re excited to be providing 12 summer art camps all across the Twin Cities — from creating mosaics piece by piece or producing your very own play, there’s something for everyone.

Here are a few camps that are coming up:

Puppetry Camp Presented by Malia Burkhart at Langford Park Rec Center
June 24th - 27th
Ages: 10 - 14

Reduce, reuse, recycle!

In this camp, students will sculpt rod puppets from recycled materials and learn puppet-moving skills. Explore creating characters, inventing original stories with sound effects, and present fabulous puppet shows at the end of the week. All the necessary supplies will be provided.

Students will write dynamic short plays about the people, events, and big questions of their choosing. Then they will learn basic play structure, and polish their pieces with physical theater exercises. The end of the week culminates in a community performance for friends and family.

Eric Sharp is an actor, writer and teaching artist, based in Minneapolis. Within his residencies, Sharp will use various theatre games and warm up exercises with the objective of invigorating bodies and minds.
