SEE MORE PERSPECTIVE has been described as a “Chicago Institution,” “walking creativity,” and “The hardest working, most unjustly slept-on artist in the Twin Cities” … This award-winning hip-hopper is a Twin Cities Native, Chicago transplant, MC, poet, producer, engineer and educator.
SEE (aka Adam) received a 2013 VERVE Grant from Intermedia Arts for an imaginative and ambitious spoken word album entitled The Cosmos According to Your Closed Eyes. He was a semi-finalist for the Million Dollar Saint Paul Challenge, and currently teaches Hip-Hop courses at the West Bank School of Music.
More About the Artist
SEE has done years of youth work through hip hop and spoken word—dealing with social justice, identity and community engagement issues; has performed at countless venues and festivals; and has spoken at and facilitated workshops at various social justice conferences and retreats. He aims to inspire, uplift and open doors to possibility and imagination with an invitation to self-discovery through meditations on community, history and the expression of pure imagination.
SEE has shared stages with the likes of Brother Ali, Umar Bin Hassan of The Last Poets, Dead Prez, Sage Francis, Michal Franti, Atmosphere, De La Soul, The White Stripes and many more.

Spoken Word
In this residency, we will explore the roots of Spoken Word as an art form, tell stories about who we are, and learn the fundamentals of performance. We will explore our cultural identities and use that as a platform to create original work. Students will engage with the culture of Spoken Word, build community with their peers, and talk about things that matter to them.
Rap Mathematics: Hip-Hop Culture and Rap Writing & Performance
Learn the arch of Hip-Hop history through a dynamic and insightful presentation from a faithful practitioner of this world-wide-urban-arts-phenomenon.
Hand Style: Hip Hop’s Calligraphy
One of the four elements of hip hop, there are many aspects and approaches to graffiti, at the heart of which is the handstyle. Join hip hop artist SEE MORE PERSPECTIVE in a quick journey through this particular aspect of the cultural art form of graffiti and learn its social significance and how to create your own personalized letters.
The “New Beat Generation”: Hip-Hop Culture & Music Production through a Hip-Hop Aesthetic
Exploring Hip-Hop culture and history. in this class students learn the basics to create their own hip-hop beats. Focusing on drum patterns, song structure, and sampling techniques, participants learn to produce their own instrumental music.
Workshop
Exploring Identity through Hip-Hop and Spoken Word Poetry
Presented differently for learners of various ages, this workshop explores social identity and how it informs the choices we make as artists and as people. Students participate in activities that help illuminate their own identity and values, reflect with peers, and begin to discover their own creative voice.
