Prices and Policies 


PERFORMANCES and WORKSHOPS—listed under Young Audiences of MN

Performance fees are listed on individual artists' pages.

Workshops are $95/hour for 2 or more sessions per day, or $125/hour for one session per day.

RESIDENCIES—listed under WAITS (Writers & Artists in the Schools)

Residencies last a minimum of 5 days. Additional days can be pro-rated.

Many people ask what a Core Group is—usually it simply refers to any classroom that works with an artist for all 5 days of the week.

Traditional                     $1700/week
Used by most schools, this model has been serving Minnesota well for decades. The package provides for 5 days of hands-on activities with an artist, including:

  • Up to 2 hours of advance planning time (may be done by phone, email, or in person)
  • 4 classes per day (at least 2 must be Core Groups that meet with the artist every day)
  • Teacher In-service
  • Community Event  

Saturation                     $1800/week

  • Includes same as in the Traditional Model, except that Core Groups are optional.
  • The school can use the 4 classes per day in any mix & match combination.

Extended                       $1600/week

  • Includes same as in the Traditional Model, except that the residency must run for 15 days or more with the same artist.
  • This model is best for murals, public sculpture, and other ambitious projects.

 

Collaboration               $1700/week

  • Same as Traditional Model, except that the artist does only 3 class sessions per day (not 4), and spends an hour per day in planning time with teachers.
  • This planning can focus on elements useful for the current residency or for future classroom activities.

 

**The above costs cover all artist fees and mileage**

Not included:

Equipment rental and materials costs, where applicable. 

Lodging when artist lives more than 60 miles from the program site.
