COMPAS is celebrating arts education by giving away a FREE one-week arts residency, a value of up to $1700. Governor Dayton has joined COMPAS in recognizing the importance of arts education to students and teachers around Minnesota by proclaiming September 11-17, 2011 Arts In Education Week.
For your chance to win, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line, "FREE Residency Contest." Include your contact information (name, school name, work phone, address and email) along with the grade or subject you teach, as well as a sentence or two telling us how using arts in education has affected (or will affect) you or your students. The winner will be selected on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the Education Minnesota Conference. Feel free to join us at our exhibit booth at Education Minnesota!
COMPAS will work with you to determine which of our Roster of more than 100 teaching artists, all of whom are leaders in their disciplines, will best enhance your curriculum. The teaching artist will work individually with up to four classrooms each day for five days. The residency must be used during the 2011-2012 school year. Extra costs may apply for supplies, mileage or lodging, depending on the art discipline and teaching artist selected.
