Medtronic Arts Access Program
COMPAS ANNOUNCES THAT MEDTRONIC ARTS ACCESS PROGRAM HAS CONCLUDED
August 23, 2010 -- COMPAS today announced that the Medtronic Arts Access Program (MAAP) has ended as a result of a change in the strategic focus and direction of the company’s philanthropic work. All current COMPAS/MAAP grant commitments will be honored.
Medtronic and COMPAS are appreciative of the work of Arts Access Program grantees over the years. Since 2003, 73 different MAAP recipients have provided a broad range of arts and cultural programming that promotes cross-cultural understanding and increase the participation of community members whose access to the arts is limited.
Medtronic and COMPAS also have valued their work together as partners and grant makers. Over the course of the program helped to identify and provide $1,490,760 to many worthy community-based arts programs and projects. The collaboration became a model for public-private philanthropy. We both encourage arts organizations to look for funding opportunities through other COMPAS programs.
