Dameun, a board member since 2016, is an award-winning composer, and the Executive Director of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association. Best known as an artist, activist and organizer, Dameun was born and raised in Washington, DC where he got his start in high school advocating for the homeless, as well as neighborhood safety. He is also a large proponent of LGBTQ rights, issues of equity and inclusion, and dismantling racism. Driven by two prominent desires: to create and innovate and to reach deep within himself and pull out something raw and honest. He is currently working on composing music for an opera lifting up the life of Alberta Williams King. The show will premier in the Twin Cities in 2017.
