Arts in Health Care

Begun in 2007, the Arts in Health Care program builds community and wellness in various health care sites around the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota. From neighborhood clinics to facilities for behavioral health, teen medical services, long-term therapy or end-of-life care, we have found that engaging in art stimulates recovery, increases quality of life, and connects staff and patients to each other in deeper ways.

Dance projects involving patients with Parkinson’s or brain injuries . . . murals for a behavioral lockdown unit . . . graphic memoir in a hospice . . . poetry and art boxes in a clinic waiting room . . . we’re still just discovering all the possible connections.
