  Larry Yazzie, a Meskwaki/Diné, is a national champion Native-American Fancy dancer who began dancing at the age of five. Fancy dance is a popular contemporary dance style known for its creativity, flamboyance, and colorful costumes. It is an innovative blend of modern and traditional Native-American dance styles.

Learn the basic forms and dance steps of Fancy dance. Larry also introduces other important components: colors, designs, and materials of the regalia; drum beat and vocals; traditions and spiritual life. The workshop and residency end with a traditional round dance. Schedule Request
