KAIROS DANCE THEATRE

Artistic Director Maria DuBois Genné founded Kairos Dance Theatre in 1999. Kairos (from the Greek, meaning the open moment), is a dance company spanning four generations, ranging in age from six to ninety-one years old. Kairos’ groundbreaking dance, music and storytelling program contributes to physical, emotional, cognitive and social well being by providing in-depth opportunities for artistic development, physical activity and community connection.

Kairos teaches people to appreciate one another, build a sense of community, and respect each other’s experiences and differences. Intergenerational Dance and Storytelling

There are many ways of dancing and each person has his or her own story to tell. This workshop series encourages interaction and collaboration with older adults in the community—grandparents, other relatives or neighbors from a nearby senior center.
