Welcome to COMPAS' Arts Education Programs

We are pleased to announce that COMPAS and Young Audiences of MN merged on July 1, 2009, forming Minnesota’s largest “one-stop-shop” for teachers, schools and communities. It is expected that the merged organization will serve nearly 600,000 Minnesotans in 2009-10. The combined organization will retain the name COMPAS, with Young Audiences of MN becoming a distinct program within COMPAS. 

COMPAS and Young Audiences of MN are two of the most far-reaching and exemplary arts education organizations in the state. They offer multi-disciplinary programs to more youth than any other Minnesota arts education organization. The newly merged organization will unite two rosters of artists, combine arts education programs, and utilize joint marketing efforts. By saving these and other expenses, COMPAS will be even more effective in reaching people of all ages across Minnesota.

Why book an artist through COMPAS?

1. COMPAS artists go through an involved application process to participate on our roster. Not only do artists submit professional resumes and work samples, but a panel comprised of teachers, artists and students interview them to ensure that the provide professional, creative experience to your program. Staff reconsider existing artists annually and invite them to sign a new contract at the beginning of each school year.
2. Each artist or lead artist has a background check done bi-annually.
3. Artists are visited on site by staff throughout the year to monitor their approach and to provide feedback on their program.
4. When you book through us, we handle all the paperwork and the payment to the artist—making your job much simpler and less time-consuming.
5. COMPAS has insurance that covers each artist while they are at your site.
